Cate Blanchett is certainly setting the flavour of the season. After all, she is the Oscar winner we are all toasting to. And when it comes to this lady, we always expect things to be a class apart. That is why; Cate Blanchett's khaki dress at the Harper's Bazaar Woman Of The Year Awards was a stunner that did not surprise us. Cate Blanchett chose to wear Givenchy for the occasion.

Cate Blanchett's dress was a jersey dress. These pinned up at the waist dresses are really 'in' this season. Of course, you need to have a flat waist like Cate's to carry of a light coloured jersey dress like this one. The full sleeved dress looked classy on Cate Blanchett. We have seen Cate Blanchett in many Givenchy creations before. In fact, the lovely lady sported a pale pink Givenchy gown for the SAG 2014 Awards earlier this year and she was obviously among the best dressed celebrities.

However, this dress that Cate Blanchett wore was distinctly different from her earlier red carpet appearances. The dress is a simple khaki brown jersey dress that has been adorned with embroidered cuffs. Khaki is a colour that we have never seen Cate Blanchett experiment with earlier. In fact, it is a completely unconventional colour for summer. However, Cate somehow makes the colour look completely natural on her. And her sparkling diamond studs and the thread sleek necklace add glamour to this look.

Cate Blanchett also wore nude high heel sandals with ankle straps with this dress. The footwear was perfect as it blended with her clothing without causing any distractions. Her new cut short hairstyle was brushed back neatly but not sleeked out with gel. She looks like a 'powerful' and 'successful' woman that she is at the Harper's Bazaar Woman of the Year Award at London. And every inch of her including her gait oozes confidence. Simplicity can work in your favour sometimes.
