Cannes'14: Marion Cotillard In Best Out Of Waste Dress
Cannes Film Festival 2014 is never short of surprises. And we received one such edgy surprise from Marion Cotillard at Cannes 2014. Everyone expected Marion Cotillard to wear Dior at Cannes 2014. After all, she is one of the brand ambassadors of Dior. But looks like the pretty French actress had other plans. She surprised us with a look we would never have expected. In fact, we are still trying to figure out the zig-saw puzzle in her dress!
Marion Cotillard's dress was actually a bric-o-brac dress that was made from buttons, screws, beer can pieces and serveal other tid-bits of waste. It was an excellent example of recycled fashion and we are still heaving at the thought of the amount of risk Marion Cotillard took by wearing this dress at Cannes 2014. She is the star of the star of the movie 'Two Day, One Night' and to turn up wearing that experimental dress for your own photocall! That takes guts.

Marion Cotillard's 'found object' dress as it is being called is from Maison Martin Margiela's couture. The mini dress has a turtle neck and is sleeveless. Marion Cotillard's Margiela dress is like a menage of colours and there cannot be a better example of recycled fashion. And the best part is that it costs almost nothing. All the waste for the dress comes from the dustbins and streets of Paris Not only did she make a statement by wearing this dress but also managed to look stunning in it.
The raised neck of the muti-coloured dress looked quite interesting. And we are happy to see Marion pair the dress with some really toned down black leather high sandals. Marion Cotillard did go on to wear Dior for the red carpet event at night. It was another one of her 'tent' dresses from Dior that is becoming an expected style statement. However, Marion Cotillard's Cannes 2014 moment will be etched in our memory in this best out of waste dress. We like Marion Cotillard in this Margiela mini dress much better than haute couture.
