Cannes Day 1: Vidya Balan's 3 Dress Changes
Vidya Balan has always had a penchant for traditional Indian clothes. She always confessed her love for ethnic Indian sarees. So it was expected that Vidya Balan's Cannes trousseau will basically have Indian outfits. However, none of us was prepared for what we just saw. Not only did Vidya Balan wear desi outfits at Cannes 2013, but she went one step ahead.
We saw Vidya Balan in lehengas which is quite rare. Everyone expected Vidya Balan to wear sarees at Cannes. But so far, we have seen Vidya Balan wear 2 lehengas at the opening day of Cannes 2013. She was also seen wearing a saree from Sabhyasachi Mukherjee's couture. Everyone knows about Vidya Balan's preference for designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee's outfits. Vidya Balan's Cannes clothes are completely from Sabyasachi's fashion label as was her wedding trousseau.
But at Cannes, Vidya Balan's look is not going down well with fashion experts. While we loved the red and black lehenga Vidya wore while arriving at Cannes, the rest of her outfits were huge flops. Vidya Balan wore a white and gold saree in the afternoon during a jury photocall at day one in Cannes. The saree was worn with a black net embroidered blouse. There was nothing wrong with the saree but it was very dull for the occasion. And for the opening ceremony, Vidya choose to wear a very drab lehenga. It was pale peach and black in colour.
Here is a round up of Vidya Balan's Cannes look on day one.

Vidya Balan in Red Lehenga
Vidya Balan looked like a queen in this maroon lehenga with golden work on it. The dupatta of this lehenga was black and Vidya wore pretty jhumkis with it.

Vidya Balan In White Gold Saree
Next up, Vidya Balan wore a white and gold saree. This saree from Sabyasachi was a little dull for the occasion.

Vidya Balan Beaded Necklace
Vidya Balan complimented her saree with a thick beaded necklace. However, this beaded necklace did not go with the ethnic look.

Vidya Balan Black Blouse
Vidya Balan wore her saree with this black net blouse. The blouse has buttons at the back and is fully closed.

Vidya Balan Nude Coloured Lehenga
The worst disaster for Vidya Balan was the lehenga that she wore for the opening ceremony. This nude-coloured lehenga looked dull and drab.

Vidya In Ghunghat
Vidya accentuated her Indian look by covering her head with a ghunghat during the opening ceremony of Cannes Film Festival.
