Winter is coming! And so is the season for dry and lack-lustre skin. The real problem area though is the lips. They are dry, flaky, with skin dangling off sometimes with an open bleeding wound.

And when you apply the oh-so-gorgeous matte lipstick, it is like caked with dry mud, yes, we've been there too! To lock in the moisture and repair the broken skin cells, what you need are super-hydrating lip fixes, which is precisely why we are here for!

Though we all keep moisturising lip balms in handy; in winter, it is just not enough, and our lips dry out too soon, become tight and eventually crack, leading to sores.

Before we further explore the herbal lip masks, there are a few other lip care rules you need to keep in mind.

Rule no 1 - Never bite your lips, even if you feel your pout flaking and you are sorely tempted.

Rule 2 - Avoid licking your lips, as it dries them out, plus it can cause them to become darker.

Rule 3 - Never touch your lips.

Rule 4 - Last but not the least, always buy a lip balm infused with SPF properties for protection from outside elements.

And for that added nourishment, here are 10 super-hydrating lip fixes! Have a look.
