Is Sunscreen Important In Monsoon?
Why wear sunscreen? Most of us think that sunscreen is necessary only when you lie down in the beach but it is a fact that you need it anywhere and everywhere as long as you are exposing your skin to the sun for more than 12 minutes.
So, even during rainy season, it is important to protect your skin. Sun exposure poses two risks. One is skin cancer and the other is premature ageing of the skin.
A sun tan may damage the skin. When your skin is repeatedly exposed to the sun for long durations, the risk of skin cancer may develop.
A sunscreen is a cream or a lotion that blocks the harsh rays of the sun. It forms a layer of protection on your skin when you apply the lotion.
Nowadays, sun protection is also added in some fairness creams and BB creams. These creams reflect the rays form the sun to save your skin.

Why Sunscreen Is Important

Fact # 1
A sunscreen is a must even when sun isn't in the sky. Winter months and cloudy days also require sun protection as the UV rays tend to be in the atmosphere.

Fact # 2
When to apply sunscreen? For better results, skin experts suggest applying sun protection at least half an hour before the sun exposure starts.

Fact # 3
Sometimes, we tend to miss our feet, and remote areas like the back of the ears. For better sun protection, ensure that all areas of your body are covered.

Fact # 4
It is better to apply the sunscreen again if you wash your face due to sweat or other reasons. It is better to minimise sun exposure especially between 10am-4pm. Apply sunscreen once again if you have just came back from swimming.
