How Much Sunscreen Should You Use? Does It Depend On Your Complexion?
Be it the winter, monsoon or summer, sunscreen is a must! Wearing sunscreen is important all year round to protect your skin from UV rays!
Today, we're diving into the world of sunscreen and answering the burning question: how much sunscreen should you use? And, does it depend on your complexion? Well, let's find out, shall we?

1. Size matters
When it comes to sunscreen, size does matter! To ensure proper protection, the American Academy of Dermatology recommends using about one ounce, which is roughly a shot glass full of sunscreen. So, next time you're heading to the pool or beach, make sure to pack enough sunscreen to cover your entire body.
2. SPF to the rescue
The Sun Protection Factor (SPF) on your sunscreen bottle is like a superhero shield against harmful UV rays. But does it depend on your complexion? Absolutely! If you have fair skin, it's best to go for a higher SPF, such as SPF 30 or above. For darker complexions, an SPF of 15 or higher should do the trick.

3. Don't forget the face
Your pretty face deserves some extra TLC. For facial protection, a nickel-sized amount of sunscreen should be enough to cover your face and neck adequately. And don't forget those often-neglected areas like your ears, the back of your neck, and your lips. A lip balm with SPF is a must-have!
4. Reapply, reapply, reapply
Sunscreen isn't a one-and-done deal. To maintain its effectiveness, you need to reapply every two hours, or more frequently if you're swimming or sweating. So set a reminder on your phone, and keep that sunburn at bay!
5. Seek shade
While sunscreen is essential, it's always a good idea to seek shade during peak sun hours, typically between 10 am and 4 pm. This will give your skin a break from the sun's rays and reduce your risk of sunburn.

On A Final Note...
Now that you know how much sunscreen to use and how it varies based on your complexion, you can confidently soak up the sun without worrying about harmful UV rays. Don't just wait for the summer to apply sunscreen, whenever the sun is out, make sure you have your SPF with you.
Sunscreen is your skin's best friend, I concur!
