Greying of hair starts in the early to mid-thirties in most Indians. But sometimes, a silver hair randomly crops up and can be a really disturbing sight for most people. Grey hair eventually is inevitable. But the early onset of grey hair can be avoided. It is normally associated with old age, but these days can be seen in young people too.
There are several reasons that could contribute to the early appearance of grey hair. One of them could be smoking. We all know that smoking has a multitude of harms associated with it and greying of hair is one of them. Another reason is stress and bad sleeping habits.

Whatever be the trigger, grey hair is visible when there is a shortage in the production of melanin, the pigment responsible for the colour in our hair. Sometimes grey hair is also a sign of a deficiency in essential nutrients like calcium.
There are a few things we can do to avoid premature greying and avoid using dyes and chemicals. These methods can be followed easily in the safety of your home. They are all also not too expensive. Mostly, the biggest advise would be to quit all unhealthy habits. So, here are the remedies:

Amla: Eating and applying products rich in this ingredient can be of great help to prevent greying hair.

Coconut oil: The antioxidants promote hair growth by increasing blood circulation, hence giving way to new, healthy hair of your natural colour.

Black tea: This is a natural dye and it would boost melanin production.

Henna or Mehendi: Again, this is known to darken the hair colour and also provide conditioning to the hair.
Coffee: Coffee can also be used as a natural dye for hair.

Ginger: Eat a tablespoon of ginger mixed with honey everyday for naturally coloured hair.
