The primary ingredient in this DIY salve for itchy scalp - tea tree oil - contains major anti-bacterial properties, which work to clean scalp of flaky dandruff, unclog pores and kill any infection-causing bacteria.
Aloe vera has healthy amounts of antioxidants that soothe inflammation, heal damaged skin and restore natural moisture balance of the scalp.
Lemon juice has powerful doses of citric acid that breaks down the yeast buildup on the scalp. Coconut oil has both anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties in just the right proportion, which help to stimulate blood flow, reduce scalp infection and free up hair follicles.
