Onion And Lemon Peel For Dandruff

Say goodbye to flaky dandruff and itchy scalp with this quick and easy hair mask.


  • 1 Dried lemon peel
  • 1 Raw onion juice
  • 1 Scoop of yogurt


  1. Take dry lemon peel and grind it into a fine powder. Mix the powder with onion juice and yogurt and whisk it together until they combine well.
  2. Apply it on your scalp and through the length of your hair.
  3. Dip a towel in hot water, squeeze out the excess water and wrap your head in the towel.
  4. Wait for an hour or two before washing off the residue with warm water. Shampoo like usual.

Onion And Alum For Damaged Hair

Here is a hair mask to infuse life and vitality into damaged and dull hair.


  • 3 Onions
  • 1 Tablespoon of alum


Peel and crush the onion to extract the juice. Mix alum powder to the extracted juice and mix until they form into a fine paste. Apply the mask to wet hair. Leave it on overnight and cover your hair in a shower cap. In the morning, wash your scalp with a mild shampoo. Apply the pack once every week for best results.


Onion Juice For Thinning Hair

If you have rapidly thinning hair, applying raw onion juice directly on your scalp is probably the best way to boost hair growth.


2 Raw onions


Crush the onions into a fine pulp and extract the juice using a strainer. Massage the juice directly onto the scalp, focusing on the roots. Leave it on for 30 minutes before washing it clean with water and a herbal shampoo. Try this treatment twice every week for quick results.


Onion And Fenugreek Mask For Greying Hair

The deficiency of antioxidants and hydrogen peroxide causes premature greying of hair. Packed with antioxidants, onions can restore natural colour to your tresses, while fenugreek adds softness and shine to the hair.


  • 2 Raw onions
  • ½ Cup of fenugreek seeds soaked overnight


Grind fenugreek seeds into a fine paste and add the juice of the two onions to the paste. Keep stirring until the ingredients combine well. Wet your hair and apply the paste on your scalp and hair evenly. Leave it on for 20 minutes before washing it clean.


Onion And Rum Potion For Added Bounce

This recipe is ideal for people who want to add shine and bounce to their hair minus the pungent smell of the onion.


  • 2 Onions
  • 60 ml Rum


Chop the onions into small pieces. Place the onion pieces and the rum in a jar and let it sit overnight. Strain the solution in a bowl. Dip a cotton ball into the solution and apply it evenly throughout your hair. Let it sit for 30 minutes before washing it clean.
