So, here are the steps on how to prepare a homemade shaving cream. Read on to know more.
1. Essential Ingredients:
To make a homemade shaving cream, you'll need some essential ingredients. They are Shea butter, coconut oil, olive oil, a few drops of your favourite essential oil, baking soda and vitamin E capsules. All these ingredients are nourishing for your skin.
2. Start With Melting:
This is the first step of making a shaving cream at home. Take 2/3rd cup of Shea butter and an equal amount of coconut oil together. When the butter gets melted in the oil completely, turn off the heat.
3. Mix Other Oils:
Add ¼th cup of olive oil to the mixture and stir well. You can use grapeseed oil in place of olive oil as well. Both of these oils keep the moisture balance of your skin intact. Now, add a few drops of essential oil to the mixture. You can use lavender or chamomile oil.
4. Refrigerate It:
Now, pour the mixture into a container or let it be in the bowl. Stir it well and keep it in the refrigerator for it to get hardened. Once the mixture is hard enough, bring it out and allow it to reach the room temperature.
5. Add Other Ingredients:
Once the mixture has become soft enough, add 2 tablespoons of baking soda and 2 vitamin E capsules to the mixture. Take the whole mixture into a blender and blend it until it gets fluffy and smooth. It will look like the icing of cupcakes.
6. Apply & Store:
Finally, your homemade shaving cream is ready to be used. Apply generously and store it in a cool and dry place. If you store it properly, the shaving cream can last for up to one month.
7. Tip To Remeber:
If you have scarred skin, never use eucalyptus or rosemary oil. Rather, you can use sweet orange, as it keeps your skin hydrated. So, try this homemade shaving cream and get a smooth shave each time you use it.
