Eloping - Couples Should Not Make This Mistake

Movies like Saathiya, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Dil, Soch Na Tha are famous Hindi movies which most of us are familiar with. These Hindi movies provide us with a lot of entertainment and the script is purely of love and romance. However, movies like the above have a certain impact on today's society, especially the youth. Young blood, at times find it difficult to differentiate between on screen and off screen romance. The topic of elopement is the main pick in these Hindi movies which leave the youth to consider doing what their favorite stars did on screen.

Eloping sounds fun and dangerous but doing the real deal is something one should reconsider. There is a lot of disadvantages in eloping with the one you love, here below are the reasons why you shouldn't attempt to elope.

Dreams
Each one of us have dreams that we one day want to accomplish and one dream among the million is having a big wedding. Weddings are expensive, therefore some couples elope. Having a small gathering with the immediate family is respectable and the right way to start a life with the one you want to marry.

Bride's Dreams
When a woman comes to a certain age, she cannot stop to think of her big day. Women have wedding fantasies and if her man tries to suggest the thought of eloping and if the plan goes along, women will resent it one day. So, this is not the type of marriage you would want to have two or three years down the line! Let the bride have her dreams of being a princess for that one day in her life she was looking forward to. Eloping is not the answer.

Family
In traditional countries like India, the family's blessing and their existence at the wedding is very important for the bride and groom. But there are times when couples elope due to nonacceptance from the family members. However, it is always best to sort out differences and live with the family's blessing and love surrounding your marriage, when compared to hard feelings and accusations in the future.

Guilt
The burden of guilt is heavy. When couples elope there comes a time when they face the mirror of guilt and this usually occurs when the couple fights. Negative questions and thoughts arise, like, 'Did I marry the wrong person?' or 'Life would have been better if I had the blessing of my parents'.

Aftermath
The aftermath is a nightmare when couples elope. The questions that will arise to be asked is at times offensive and couples who elope will surely feel embarrassed about their situation. Family members too face the brunt of embarrassment and this can be a life long garland for the couple.
