How To Select The Right Shoes For Your Toddler

By Super

As your toddler is walking and running actively all around, now it's time for them to start using a new pair of shoes. You may be excited about the new trends and fashions set in the variety of toddler shoes. But, will it be the best choice for your toddler? A shoe for a toddler is not about its fashion, but about its fit and function.

Selecting the right shoes for your toddler is not too hard if you know the important points to be noted. Three key portions that should be in the perfect alignment are the front of the shoe, the back, and the width. Here are some more tips which will help you to select the best shoes for your toddler.

Select The Right Shoes For Your Toddler

Keep it light: Take care to select light weight shoes for your toddler. Cloth or soft leather will be the best choice for your toddler's little feet. Stiff leather will hinder the comfort of your toddler while synthetic materials may cause sweating.

The right sole: Do not think that soft soles are the best. Soft soles will increase the chance of accidents by slips, falls or penetration of pointed objects. Too hard may also be not comfortable. Prefer one with leather or rubber sole.

The right size: Don't buy shoes for your toddler online. Take your toddler to the footwear shop and try different shoes to find out the best fitting one. Remember that your toddler's foot size will change fast and so measure their feet once in two months if you are continuing the use of same shoes.

Space to breathe: Your toddler's shoes should not be too tight which may affect the growth and development of their feet. Check whether their thumb is bumping out. Confirm whether there is some space, a minimum of half inch, between their toe and the tip of the shoe.

Not for the future: Do not try to buy shoes of a little larger size thinking that your toddler's feet will grow fast. This will never be the right choice. Buy any shoes which correctly fit on those little feet. Incorrect size will make it difficult to walk and it is unsafe as well.

Comfort first: Pointy boots, clogs, and other fashionable footwear may be adorable to see, but it may not be comfortable for your toddler. Toddlers are crazy about running all around and let them move safe by selecting the most comfy one.

Change styles often: Sticking always to a particular style of shoes may affect the shape and development of your toddler's feet. Trying different styles will be the best option for your toddler's feet. But, remember to provide all the comfort and protection that your toddler needs.
