Hot Oil Treatment: Steps For Pain Relief
The modern lifestyle has become a rather painful one. Traveling, bad body posture and stress are some of the prime reasons why people undergo muscle pain. However, you need to follow the hot oil massage steps correctly. Ayurvedic hot oil massage has a certain procedure. The hot oil massage steps are very important because they ensure that you get relief from pain. If these particular hot oil massage steps are not followed, then you may not get relief from your muscle pain.
Hot oil massage is not a very difficult thing to do at home. You need not be a seasoned messier to follow the hot oil massage steps. All you have to do is know the basic structure involved with this procedure. And once you are aware of the steps, you can get a hot oil massage done at home.

Choose The Oil
Several kinds of Ayurvedic oils can be used for hot oil massage. But here, for your convenience you can choose mustard oil which is easily available in most Indian kitchens. Massaging with mustard oil will also get rid of phlegm congestion (if you have).
Heat Oil
Heat the mustard oil in a small bowl over the gas flame or in the microwave for 2-3 minutes on 100 percent power.
Add Herbs
Thyme, basil and rosemary are common herbs that are anti-inflammatory in nature. Add the herbs to the hot oil, cover it with a lid.
Store The Oil
Store the oil in a cool and dry place for 3 to 4 days.
Heat Oil Again
Before you start the hot oil massage, a step is, heat the oil again. Heat as much of herbal oil as you require for the massage.
Drip Oil On Painful Muscles
Now slowly drip the hot oil on the cramped painful muscles. Put one drop at a time. This slow dripping of oil also helps to relax the muscles.
Heat Up Massage Stones
The best way to relax cramped muscles is with rounded black stones.
Massage With Hot Stones
Now place the hot stones at the strategic and painful points on your body. Allow the heat to seep through and relax the cramps.

Remove the stones. Ask your spouse or any other family member to use rounded fist movements to spread the hot oil on your painful muscles.

One of the last hot oil treatment steps is to take a warm shower. Bathe with lukewarm water and a mild soap to relax muscle pain.
