Avoid These Uric Acid Rich Foods
Uric acid is a waste chemical that is secreted when your body breaks down the substances know as purines. Uric acid basically dissolves in the blood and moves to the kidneys. Gradually, they flush out through urine and stool. However, in some cases, uric acid gets accumulated in the body and lead to harmful health conditions.
When uric acid starts accumulating in the body, it can lead to hyperuricemia (a condition where the uric acid is not secreted out from the body). When the uric acid is in the body, it gets accumulated in the joints (especially feet and toes) in the form of crystals thus gradually leading to gout.
While few foods can help you lower uric acid in the body, there is a list of foods that you must avoid. Exclude foods like meat, shell fish etc from your uric acid diet. If you have high uric acid, lower the intake of fatty foods. Alcohol too build uric acids so if you are on a uric acid diet, exclude alcohol from your diet.
