What Are The Benefits Of Lighting Diya At The Main Entrance Of A House?
Usually lighting lamps at every given chance or occasion, is a deep-rooted practice amongst Indians. The lamps are also lit during a specific time, say, mornings and evenings.
Sunrise is the most sacred hour as most japas, vrats and prayers are conducted at this time. In case the morning puja is missed, they say that it can be done during the evening sandhya kala as this is also equally holy.

Lamp is lit during these times on the threshold and this is a method that assures peace and prosperity in our lives. Lighting the lamp during twilight comes loaded with umpteen benefits.
There is yet another puja that is done in Rahukala but it is the Durga Puja which is compulsorily done at this time as per the shastras.
This 16 Friday or 16 Tuesday puja bestows wonderful boons on the worshipper by fulfilling all desires.
Right side is the auspicious side, and hence you see mostly all divine consorts to the Gods staying at their right side.
Right hand is used for doing puja, Aarti is generally waved in the clockwise direction which is towards the right of God. Right hand is used to receive any prasad or any important document. Right side has a great significance.
Hence even here, pundits say that the diya should be lit on the right side of the entrance to ensure maximum benefit. Use Ghee or oil to light this lamp. Let us See what is the use of lighting a lamp near the threshold in the evening.
Effects Of Rahu Will Be Countered: It is a known fact that Rahu is under the governance of Devi Kalika. So if Rahu is malefic in someone's horoscope, lighting the diya at the threshold at dusk will reduce the dosha of Rahu.
Negative influences of Rahu will be wiped out and positive vibrations will set in instead,
Poverty is eliminated: Lighting a Diya near the threshold, ensures wealth and abundance for the home,
Poverty will leave these homes forever. Happiness, progress, health and calm will be experienced by the residents.
This Observance Pleases Lakshmi: A threshold at the main entrance is a place through which Goddess Lakshmi enters the home after dusk. Threshold is the favourite spot of Lakshmi and for the same reason, scriptures say that we should not sit or stand on it or use it for day-to-day purposes, like combing the hair, eating etc.
Since Lakshmi passes through the threshold, she will strengthen the financial condition of all members of the family.
Lighting Diya improves Positive energy: Light in the diya is something that deflects negative energies as they prefer to stay in dark isolated and impure places.
Regularly lighting a diya at the entrance will destabilise these spirits and they cannot enter beyond the threshold. Where ever there is a rush of positive energy, calm and peace descends. People in this house be in peace and happiness always.
