A man"s adherence to virtue raises him to great heights;
His failure brings him down.
Sublime heights are reached by a person who treads the path of virtue and forgetting that path would account for the greatest fall.
This Kural emphasises the importance of virtue in a double barreled sort of way. There is Biblical parallel for this in Provers (10:3):
'The Lord will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish; but he casteth away the substance of the wicked".
