Those who have not practiced hospitality, as one of the prime sacrifices of life,
Will lament that they have wasted their lives in purposeless toil and care.

The householder who has failed to look after those who sought his help and, by being hospitable to them, earned the fruits of such a sacrifice, will certainly regret 'Cardinal Wolsey' fashion, a life misspent in meaningless pursuits. For such people perhaps, an opportunity to make good in the last days will not also come, as explained in the 'Vilambalam' story of Naladiar and repeated in Jeevaka Chinthamani.

On the contrary, those who do practise hospitality, even if they come to lose their wealth in process, will be happy about having done some good in life.
