Ponraadhu nirpathonru il
The outstandingly unique renown (of a benevolent man alone) Will live for ever; all the rest will die out.
Except for the outstanding merit of the benevolent ones, nothing else lives for ever in this world. This idea, has been felicitously put in the following lines of Purananuru, which says that such great men have passed away leaving their reputation behind:
Manaa ulakaththu mannuthar kuriththoar
Tham puzal nireei thaam maaintha narae
(Pura: 165, 1-2)
