Freedom From Envy

Alukkaatrin anmai perin
If a man learns not to be envious of others,
He does not need any greater wealth.
Knowing people realize that envy of other people's possessions is a kind of poverty of the mind, as it makes one intensely miserable. It will, therefore, be a very great blessing to cultivate full freedom from envious thoughts. A man cannot hope to come by a greater wealth or happiness than this.
It is this freedom, along with freedom from other desires and anxieties, that the Gita also enjoins in (12,15) as the path to make oneself dear to the Lord.
