About eight or nine devotees were travelling by train with Swami Chinmayananda from New Delhi to Pathankot and from there to Sidhabari, in Himachal Pradesh, the site of His ashram in Sandeepany (Himalayas). They arrived early in the morning at the Pathankot station, where two Brahmacharis had come to greet them.They had brought one small car to carry Swamij and his luggage, and the two Brahmacharis.

The Brahmacharis greeted the group and then pointed out to Swamiji where His car was waiting. Swamiji looked at the car, then looked at them and the group of devotees. He asked the Brahmacharis how the rest were going to get to Sidhabari, another few hours drive from Pathankot : "I think there is a bus coming in a couple of hours", one of the Brahmacharis offered. Those who witnessed the scene had never seen Swamiji so angry.

He took His cane and pounded it down on the. earth so hard that the ground seemed to shake all around the group. "If you want to run this place, He said "then run it". Find transportation for these people. They are my guests.
