In The Drowning Waters...

K.V.Mama was raised by Echammal, a devotee of Ramana in Thiruvannmalai, as per the wish of his dying mother at his birth. Bhagavan took good care of the him and protected him from harm.
A devotee of Ramana Maharshi fondly addressed as K.V.Mama by the other devotees, as a boy, opted for a swim in the temple tank on one of their visits to the Arunachaleshwara temple.
As the boys engaged in splashing and playing in the waters, K.V.Mama began to be pulled by the currents below. As he sank lower, he attempted to rise above the waters to stay afloat. After several unsuccessful attempts as the water seemed to take him over, his friend ran way out of fear. Just as he was drowning beneath, he had a vision of Ramana's face after which his consciousness slipped away.
On gaining consciousness, K.V.Mama found himself lying on one of the stone steps of the tank. As it would be the case with any other victim, K.V.Mama enquired as to who was his saviour. People around said that it was an old man who pulled him out of the devouring waters and left the place when the job was over.
K.V. Mama on returning to the ashram, changed his clothes and sat in the hall meekly. Bhagavan looked at him and enquired, “Did you have a good swim?!"
Who else could it be other than Bhagavan to have saved the drowning boy. Can there even be a little doubt that Bhagavan will also pull His folks out of the seemingly eternal waters of Samsara?!
