Narayaneeyam Sloka To Cure Deadly Diseases Like Cancer As Suggested By Kanchi Periyava
Shriman Narayaneeyam written by Melpathur Narayana Bhattathiri, invokes the grace of Lord Guruvayurappan. A powerful sloka from Narayaneeyam has been suggested by Kanchi Maha Periyava to cure even deadly diseases like cancer.
What is Sriman Narayaneeyam?
Sriman Narayaneeyam is a Sanskrit devotional text in verse form consisting of 1,034 verses, which summarises the Bhagavata Puranam. A simple sloka from this text, when chanted, is highly effective in curing serious diseases.

The story of the cure of cancer chanting the sloka from Narayaneeyam
It is said that once a devotee sought the grace of the sage, Kanchi Maha Periyava (Sri Chandrashekarendra Saraswati) as he was afflicted with cancer. The sage with utmost compassion inquired if the pain was too much to bear. He then asked someone to write out the particular sloka from Narayaneeyam and asked the afflicted person to read it 108 times a day for 45 days and to not worry further. After six months, the person came to the presence of the sage with tears of gratitude brimming in his eyes, stating that he was completely cured of cancer. It was the grace and compassion of the sage and the steadfast faith of the devotee in the almighty, which brought about the miraculous cure.

This sloka from the Narayaneeyam is popularly known by its first line as the "Asmin paraathman" sloka. The benefits are infinite in curing even deadly diseases like cancer. It is in the Dasakam (Canto) 8, sloka 13 from the devotional text Narayaneeyam. It is a prayer to invoke the grace of Lord Guruvayurappan (Lord Krishna) for physical and mental wellbeing, who is the presiding deity in the temple of Guruvayur in Kerala.
What is the meaning of Narayaneeyam 8/13?
Narayaneeyam Canto 18, Sloka 13 general translation in English (Asmin paraathman sloka meaning) goes thus.
"O! Vishnu, the Supreme Being manifested in the temple of Guruvayur. In this age known as paadmakalpa, you created the lotus born Brahma (originated from the navel of Vishnu). You are of incomprehensible powers. Please eradicate my ailments."
