Ghadiya Ghat Mataji Mandir: Mysterious Bhavani Temple Where Diyas Are Lit Using Water And Not Ghee

India is home to Innumerable temples that have their own stories to tell and miracles specific to the deities that reside there. These miracles time and again prove to us that god exists to help the good to save them from distress and silence the wicked. Our belief in "yada yada hi dharmsya glanirbhavati bharata.....( whenever there is a decline in dharma, I take an incarnation to protect the righteous and punish the wicked) is reinforced with such occurrences. These mysterious occurrences defy the scientific logic and happening even today despite the absence of scientific claims.
Agar Malwa is a place that is famous for two reasons. Firslty it is known for the case of Col. Martin, the British army chief for Agar Malwa in 1879, whose life, as per Martin's own reports, was saved from Afghans by Lord Shiva. That is Baijnath Mahadev temple whose deity Lord Mahadev saved him in the nick of time.
Where is Ghadiaghat Temple Located?
Here there is another temple in Gadia village around the area of Agar Malwa which stands on the bank of Kalisindh river in Madhya Pradesh. People reverently refer to this temple as Gadiaghat Wali Mata Ji. In this temple for Goddess Bhavani , oil or ghee are not required to light the diyas because they are lit with water and hence the temple also bears the name "Chamatkari Mandir".
The Miraculous Story Of Akhand Deep
Since last five years there is an akhand deep that is burning continuously. Unlike many other temples, the akhand deep here burns by just adding water in to the diya. It defies the laws of nature as water which is used to put off the fire is used here to light a diya. Priests say that oil and ghee are not required for this purpose.
Temple Priest Reports The Miracle
As per the priest's account, Goddess appeared one day in his dream about 5 years ago, and asked him to light the diyas with water instead of ghee or oil. The very next day the priest tried lighting the diya with water brough from the Kalisindh river and poured it in to the diya after which the diya burned instantly. This scene shocked the priest so much that he refused to speak about this to anyone in the village, scared that no one would believe it.
He divulged much later and also demonstrated this to the local villagers. This stunned the villagers as well and from then onwards water was used for diyas. But only the water of Kalisindh river is used for lighting as this water, from the Kalisindh, when poured into the lamp turns into a sticky thick viscous liquid and starts burning once it is lit. People from all over India started visiting this place just to see this miraculous incident.
Diya During The Rainy Season
Water level in this mandir rises during rainy season due to which the temple gets submerged by the flowing streams of Kali Sindh. Hence lamps cannot be lit during the rainy season. Diyas are filled with water on the day of Padwa on the first day of Sharadiya Navaratri at the Ghatastapana muhurat and they continue to burn till the arrival of the next rainy season...
