6 Favourite Things Of Lord Ganesha
Wednesday is dedicated to Lord Ganesha in Hinduism. It is a day when devotees of Lord Ganesha offer prayers and visit His temple. Lord Ganesha is known for his elephant head and the round belly. Also called as Elephant head god, Lord Ganesha is worshiped to get wealth, happiness, prosperity, joy and knowledge.
Lord Ganesha has 108 names out of which Ganapati and Siddhivinayak are very common among His devotees. There are many ways to impress Lord Ganesha. However, if you want to offer prayers to Lord Ganesha, you need to know the things that He likes the most. For example, Lord Ganesha loves ladoo and modak. There are many devotees who think that Lord Ganesha only likes modak and that is His favourite sweet. But, Ganesha also loves motichur ladoos. That is why, most of His idols have an image of motichur ladoo on the left hand.
Other things that Lord Ganesha loves are, dhruv (grass). That is why, idols of Ganapati will have grass on the right side. As Ganesh Chathurthi is around the corner, it is time to make a note of things that Lord Ganesha loves the most.
Things For Lord Ganesha:

Modak
Ganesha is a foodie, so He loves this round sweet. That is why, dumplings like modaks are prepared on Ganesh Chathurthi too.

Dhruv
The grass with three blades are offered to Lord Ganesha. The dhruv grass are placed on the right hand of Ganesha idol.

Shankh
Also known as conch shell, it is considered one of the things that is required for Hindu prayers. The sound of shankh is considered holy and pure. Ganesha has 4 hands and He hold a shankh in one of the hands.

Banana
Seasonal fruits can be offered to Ganesha. But the elephant head god loves to eat banana and also loves the banana leaves. The idol is often decorated with banana leaves in the background.

Marigold
Yellow and green colours are loved by Lord Ganesha. You can offer fresh and blooming marigold flowers to Him.

Ladoo
Lord Ganesha also has a fetish for yellow motichur ladoos. In all his idols and images, He is shown holding a round ladoo in his left hand.
