It is a well known fact that reading the Ramayana is very auspicious. Eka Sloki Ramayanam encapsulates the entire Ramayana in one small single shloka, making it an effortless yet an effective read in order to invoke the grace of Lord Rama.
Eka Sloki Ramayanam
ādau rāma tapōvanādigamanaṁ hatvā mr̥gaṁ kāñcanaṁ
vaidēhī haraṇaṁ jaṭāyu maraṇaṁ sugrīva sambhāṣaṇam |
vālī nigrahaṇaṁ samudrataraṇaṁ laṅkāpurīdāhanaṁ
paścādrāvaṇakumbhakarṇahananaṁ hyētaddhi rāmāyaṇam
Iti ekashlokee raamaayaNam sampoorNam ||

Eka Sloki Ramayanam Meaning
Once when Rama was sent to the forest, He chased a deer, meanwhile, Sita was kidnapped, Jatayu was killed. Then there were discussions and planning with Sugreeva, Vali was killed, the ocean was crossed and Lanka was burnt. Lord Rama, slayed Kumbakarna and Ravana and rescued Goddess Sita. This is the story of Ramayanam.
Benefits of reading the Eka Sloki Ramayanam
Eka Sloki Ramayanam is a condensed version of the Ramayana in one, small single shloka. The Valmiki Ramayanam is voluminous and has 24,000 slokas or verses. The Eka Sloki Ramayanam, a seemingly tiny but tremendously powerful sloka, is equivalent to reading the entire Ramayana and reaping the benefits of reading this sacred text.
In this sloka except for the Bala Kandam (childhood of Lord Rama) all other Kandams are covered. In the modern days, when most of us run the rat race, this sloka comes in handy to read or recite it to be blessed by the Lord. Reading the Ramayana is extremely auspicious and bestows happiness, prosperity and peace amidst numerous other benefits.
