Fabrication Of The Mind-Sufi Story

Sufi Story
Fabrication is but the way of the mind. A short Sufi story conveys the truth.

Mullah Nasruddin was once walking along a deserted road when night was descending. He heard the sound of the hoofs of horses coming towards him. Nasruddin's imagination began to make rapid strides.

He imagined that the horsemen could be robbers who would rob him; or they could impress him into the army. Fear gripped him so strongly that he leaped over a wall and landed on the other side, a graveyard.

The horsemen who were not aware of Mullah Nasruddin's fear, was intrigued by his behaviour and advanced towards him. On reaching him they asked, “Can we help you? Why are you lying in such a position?"

All Mulla Nasruddin could say was, “Oh it's more complicated than what you imagine. Errr....I am here because of you and you are here because of me!"

The mind indulges in endless fabrication. The way out of the mind is to just be.
