A monk put forward a question to Zen Master Tozan "How can we escape heat and cold?'
Tozan replied : "Why not go where there is no cold and heat'
The monk was visibly puzzled. He asked in utter surprise : " Is there a place like that?'
Tozan replied " When cold become completely cold and when feeling hot become throughly hot'
The idea of what is called "Going beyond' is what is expressed crisply and clearly the Zen way.
