Take Care Of Your Lips With These Diy Lip Balms
Lips are to be cared for just like the skin on the rest of the body. In fact, extra care must be given since they tend to dry up faster and are very delicate. They do get easily affected resulting in chapped lips and even discoloured ones. It is better not to delay in giving some attention to it and how do you do it?

Lip balm, of course. They are many available and it is pretty tough to choose the right one. Instead, this time around, why not try making the balms from the comfort of your home? Once you assemble all the ingredients, it takes only a matter of minutes. Just read on.

Honey Lip Balm
Honey is an awesome ingredient that nature has given mankind. It makes the lip colour lighter and eventually, they will soften up. The effect is doubled when it is in the form of a lip balm. You will need
- 8 tbsp coconut oil
- 3 tbsp beeswax pellets
- 1.5 tbsp honey
30 Drops Of Sweet Orange Essential Oil
Double boil beeswax and coconut oil until all of it melts and blends. Mix in honey and essential oil. Pour into clean containers and let it set for a while. Your DIY honey lip balm is ready within minutes.

Shea Butter Lip Balm
Shea butter is a very good moisturiser not only for the skin but for the lips too. Things needed to whip up the lip balm are:
- 1 tbsp Shea butter
- 1 tbsp grated beeswax
- ¾ tbsp lanolin
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Firstly, beeswax must be melted by double boiling. Secondly, mix shea butter and lanolin in a saucepan and double boil. Add the olive oil to the shea butter - lanolin mix. Finally, blend the melted beeswax to this mixture. Pour into containers and allow to set for four hours before sealing them up.
Chocolate Mint Lip Balm
Who doesn’t love chocolates? You are going to have the taste of them always on your lips from now on with this DIY recipe. Keep ready the following.
- 2 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 tbsp cocoa butter
- 1 tbsp sweet almond oil
- 2 tbsp beeswax pellets
- ¼ tsp peppermint essential oil
Melt coconut oil, cocoa butter, sweet almond oil, and beeswax using a double boiler. Remove from heat and mix in the peppermint essential oil. Set them in your desired containers.

Mango Lip Balm
Mango is never going to be a seasonal fruit anymore. You can have it all around the year with this lip-smacking balm. The ingredients to used are
- 3 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 tbsp mango butter
- 1 ½ tbsp beeswax pellets
- ½ tbsp castor oil
- ¼ tsp vitamin E oil
Melt the coconut oil, mango butter, and beeswax. Stir in the other oils and set it in sterilised containers. Castor oil will give a glossy finish to the balm and if needed, you can also add an essential oil of your choice.
Lemon Lip Balm
Get the goodness of the citrus fruit by using this homemade lip balm. You will need
1 tbsp beeswax
1 tbsp coconut oil
5 drops of lemon essential oil
That is all you need to gather for this recipe. Double boil and melt beeswax and coconut oil. Blend in the lemon essential oil, pour out, and allow to rest. You can use it after it sets.


Beetroot Lip Balm
This lip balm will work wonders on your lips. It does not call for double boiling like the others. In addition to soft and supple lips, lighter and pink lips are assured by using this. Beetroot is responsible to impart this natural lip colour. Here it goes.
- 2 tsp beetroot juice
- ½ tsp coconut oil
- 1 tsp petroleum jelly
- ¼ tsp vitamin E oil
Simply combine all the ingredients well and allow to set. Regular use is suggested to get good results.
