How To Save Marriage
Your parents don"t always know what is best for you. If you have really dominating parents then they may be the hidden cause of all your marriage problems. If you feel that you have a genuine chance with your spouse and parental interference is preventing you two from being happy then some serious steps are required to save your marriage.

Here is what you can do keep your or your spouse"s dominating parents at bay.

Tips To Save Your Marriage From Dominating Parents:

Did you have inter cultural marriage i.e. you are a Mexican and you married a Scot? Then both set of parents are bound to hold their respective cultural peculiarities dear and they will in their own way enforce it on you.

In no time your married life will be riddled with cultural issues that were not discussed before as their priorities enter your life. To avoid this you need to make a list of the festivals you are going to celebrate (include the most important ones from each side), the dishes you will cook at home (ditto) etc down to the last detail.

Some parents are very good at brainwashing. They have been brainwashing you all your life and you have never known so when your partner points it out you may feel surprised and even annoyed. But give it a thought and take his or her word seriously.

If you realize that your spouse is indeed right then it is up to you to save your marriage. Visits them less often, keep the conversations short and if you cannot confront them directly, tune off mentally when they are trying to brainwash you. You need to do all your duties by attending to their needs but otherwise keep distance.

Never discuss your relationship problems in conjugal life with your parents. They are your parents; they will never see things from your partner"s perspective. They will take your side and then things become much more complex. You may be poisoned against your spouse without your knowledge.

If your parents are dominating then they will not agree with all the decisions as a couple. It does not matter because some decisions like when to plan a baby, where to buy a house or which job to take are very personal decisions of a couple. You need to let them know loud and clear that you will not heed their opinion on these matters.

Parental interference becomes all the more problematic when it comes to your children. All grandparents have a lot to say about the upbringing of their grandchildren. You might actually find your parents and in laws agreeing for the first time because they belong to the same generation.

You need to deal with your respective parents when it comes to such situations. If it is the other way round, feelings will be hurt and hell will break loose.
Use these marriage tips to handle dominating parents.
