Many women today are in abusive relationships/marriage that they find hard to give up and breaking the cycle of domestic violence is hard enough for these women who are in it. What these women go through , their love ones empathise with them.
Women should realise that they should leave the relationship before it turns ugly.
1.It is true that many women who are in an abusive relationship/marriage believe that what they get, they deserve. This type of behaviour is normal for people who have grown up in these kinds of family environment.
2.If you are a friend to the abused woman who is facing this dreadful domestic violence, don't be judgemental. Be kind and listen to what the victim has to say. There are many reasons as to why she is in the relationship, it could be because of the fear of poverty for one example and another been kids involved.
3.Social isolation is one of the major and classic techniques that abusers do to control their partners. The victims should be encouraged to participate in activities outside the relationship so that they can get support form other networks and once they leave the troubled abusive relationship/marriage they will have external support and care.
4.Avoid getting angry with your friends and loved ones who are in an abusive relationship and face this domestic violence. They need a lot of support and encouragement from family members and friends.
5.If you are in an abusive relationship/marriage , marriage counselling is one of the options that will help you get through this tough phase if both the partners are present.
