Parents With Twins, Likely To Get Divorced

A survey has found that parents with or triplets are more likely to end up divorced, broke and out of work, even though they are better off or older. They are also more likely to be married, compared to those who have one baby at a time. This is not applicable to the couples who have more than one child, with gaps in between.

The researches based on more than 18,500 families, showed that the parents having more than one baby at a time, have 17 percent more chances of a split up, when compared to the counterparts.

The family finance is a crucial factor, for the split ups of the parents with or triplets. The mothers of are generally not able to return to work after the delivery, like the moms of single babies. So the cost of the childcare can become an important point to blame. Two thirds of multiple-birth families said that they were significantly financially worse off after their babies were born compared with 40 percent of other parents.

So the experts suggests that government should try to provide more grants for the parents of , as they can be under financial pressures. They also advice the other members of the family to be more supportive to the parents of , which will help both the parents to go back to work and earn more money.

The may be born when there are already other children in the family. The new generation parents always prefer or plan for just two children. The infertility treatments like IVF are increasing the chances of multiple births, says the experts. One in 65 births now results in or triplets, compared with one in 100 in 1970's.
