Many marriages have hit a rough patch as jobs are being lost everyday, while many others have been forced to retire early. Fight over petty issues, rising depression and even domestic violence with heavy drinking also has been reported to be on its highest this year.
The job loss is tearing away many previously happily married couples, as jolted by the sudden job loss, the couple have been found to be more irritable and less patient, say researcher.
Often adverse situations draws two people together, however, there are more fallouts, married couples instead of helping each other out of the mess are making a mess of the whole situation.
The psychologists and marriage counsellors say that change in behaviour among couples is because of major transformation, expected or unexpected, that may alter life in unimaginable ways.

The psychologists say that instead of secluding oneself from society, the couple should be open about the layoff and should seek help from others. This would help them to better cope with the situation.
While judicious use of time would help, you not spend time job hunting but also you should spend time interning with a company would help you later when you really get a job.
Also people report high after the layoff, so it becomes mandatory for your own good that you should include an excise and relation routine in your schedule. While it is also time to spend quality time with your spouse, and discuss the matters that are affecting your marriage, owing to the job loss.
Give ample time and effort to make arguments clear without messing things and you should by now be able to understand that life is not going as you had planned it. So now you and your spouse should use your creative energies together to make a plan B for your life.
Lastly, marriages are precious and don't let just mere recession tear it away, stay together, love each other, give the best you have to your partner, for life is too short for breaking and building up again.
