Poem For Real Love Story: Valentine Spcl
This is work of art dedicated to a real love story. This poem was written by a reader who has composed this poem in honour of this friend's real love story. This Valentine's Day Boldsky brings to you as poem contributed by our Reader Bhaskar V. Lets celebrate Valentine's day with real people and their real love stories....
Bhaskar V Says...

Many years ago I wrote this poem for a good friend of mine. He loved a woman dearly and wanted to marry her. Unfortunately, difficult circumstances resulted in many painful years of waiting and separation. But finally, the day arrived, the date was fixed. The pain of the past was soon forgotten and the thrill and excitement of starting a home with the one he loved filled his heart.
Like in many love stories, marriage often is portrayed as a happy ending but in life's story it is often the beginning... Beginning of a new phase when the love that is shared by two mortals is tested and tried in the furnace of life's affliction... as time passes, the dross is shed the precious emerges... That can be cherished, preserved and valued for life.
This subtle message was given in the form of this poem...
As you walk down the aisle, holding her hand
Taking a vow to face all odds and stand
Its time to remember all that you've been through
And look into the future with promises so bright and new
Its time to consider love that looks beyond the self
That the meaning of love could surpass love itself
Its time to promise never to be harsh or rude
As the pressures of daily life could foster discord and feud
Its time to receive instruction, to plan and to provide
To meet the needs of the one who stands faithfully by your side
Its time to make a commitment to remain faithful till the end
Though the journey of life may take many turns and bends
And now my friend as your take her hand
Taking a vow to face all odds and stand
I bless you with all my heart
May you cling to one another until death make you part
We are living in a day and age of speed, perfection and instant gratification. Unfortunately some aspects of life still require time, perseverance and deliberation. Love is one of them
Love is not perfected when two ‘perfect' people experience the thrill of the moment; rather love grows to perfection when two imperfect people exercise their will in the context of a lifelong commitment. Happy Valentine's Day.
