Mathura ka peda is a traditional sweet of Uttar Pradesh that is prepared during festivals and also offered as prasad to the Lord. Here is a detailed preparation method with images and a video attached
Mathura ka peda is an authentic sweet from Uttar Pradesh that is specially popular in Mathura. Mathura peda is prepared with khoya, sugar, ghee and cardamom powder. Once moulded into pedas, they are coated with sugar powder. The aroma of the cardamom powder and the richness of the khoya make this sweet a fine delicacy.
The Mathura ke pede are famous all over the country and are prepared during the festive seasons. During festivals, these pedas are offered to the Lord as prasad and then partaken by all to break their fasts.
The Mathura pedas are easy to prepare and do not take too much of your kitchen time. So, if you would like to try this toothsome sweet at home, continue reading the step-by-step procedure along with images and a video recipe.
MATHURA KA PEDA RECIPE VIDEO

Serves: 8 pedas

Khoya (mawa) - 200 g
Sugar - 3 tbsp
Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
Ghee - 1 tbsp
Milk - 3 tbsp
Powdered sugar - 1/4th cup

1. Add khoya to a heated pan.
2. Add ghee and sugar in the pan.
3. Keep stirring until the sugar dissolves.
4. Add milk and stir continuously to avoid it from burning at the bottom.
5. The khoya must turn golden brown and start leaving the sides of the pan.
6. Once it starts collecting in the centre, add cardamom powder and mix well for a minute.
7. Remove it off the stove and transfer it onto a plate.
8. Let it cool until it is just warm enough and then roll it into pedas.
9. Make a small dip in the centre.
10. Coat it with powdered sugar and serve.
