Teaching Hygiene For Toddlers
1. Hand Washing – The 2-3 yr olds will not know about hand washing, as parents we need to guide them about washing prior and after meal. They need to be shown the ways of washing, like rubbing palms, cleaning between fingers etc. This basic will cultivate good hygiene habits in toddlers.
2. Changing Clothes – Teaching toddlers about changing clothes after play or during bedtime will be good cleanliness tips. The dust and dirt on clothes may consist germs which can affect the child so changing it and putting for washing will solve half the problem.
3. Potty Training – While teaching cleanliness to toddlers, never make face about pooping as it may make them feel disgust about the normal body function. Stay relaxed and tell them the way to flush, use wipes and cleaning self well.
4. Brushing Teeth – Toddlers need to be tought about brushing teeth, the direction, gum care and tongue cleaning etc. This habit will help them continue to take a proper oral care.
5. Bathing (hair And Body Washing) – They need to know about how to apply and clean self. While teaching hygiene for toddlers, you also need to educate them about saving water as it is very precious.
6. Using And Discarding Paper Towels – Parents need to take the teaching hygiene for their brood seriously as it is not just a matter of cleanliness but also manners. They need to know about the usage of spoon, napkins, kerchiefs, paper towels and the way to discard them.
These tips on cleanliness will help children follow a discipline in their lives, even when they are adults.
