Why Women Choose Elective C Section?
Usually, going into labour is a matter of chance. You have to wait out your time at home until contractions start. That is why; many pregnant women choose to have elective c sections these days instead of waiting to go into labour. A elective c section is basically a situation when the mother chooses to have a surgery instead of going for vaginal birth.
In other words, it is a planned c section but there is no valid medical reason for it. Many women have planned c section at 39 week because of low lying placenta, high blood pressure or some other complication. But an elective c section is a scenario where you opt for a surgery even when you have no complications.
Over the past few years, an increasing number of pregnant women are choosing elective c section instead of vaginal birth. There are some very obvious reasons behind this and they are;

Planned Birth
As we said, going into labour is a medical emergency. Many couples wish to avoid waking up in the middle of the night, making a rushed drive to the hospital and then waiting for the baby to pop out.

Arrange Maternity Leave
Most pregnant women continue to work till their last semester these days. So it becomes easier to arrange for maternity leave and wrap up work schedules when you have a planned c section.

Scared Of Labour Pain
All pregnant women read up horror stories about labour pain and they are sometimes scared to death of this experience of giving birth. Labour pain is the worst pain in that human beings go through and many women do not have the nerve for it.

If Pain Management Doesn't Work
You don't really have to go through the worst part of the pain these days because you have epidural and pain killer meds. But there are also rumours that epidural does not work for every woman.

Fear Of Vaginal Tears
In many cases, natural birth can result in tearing of the vaginal tissues. In some cases, the tear might extend to the anus. While most vaginal tears heel within weeks, a nasty one can trouble you for months.

Sexual Problems Later
Many pregnant women have this sinking feeling that their vagina will never be the same after giving birth. Child birth loosens up your vagina and there is also the chance vaginal tears that might make intercourse painful.

C Section Have Become Technically Improved
A C section no longer requires a massive cut across your abdomen. The doctor needs to cut barely 4 cms to pull out your baby. Besides, it takes just 15 minutes to perform a c-section and you are in your senses all the time. The post operative recovery is also quicker and less painful these days.
