Another notable thing is pregnancy craving. This usually centres on pregnancy food as pregnant women develop a craving for different kinds of foods and delicacies.
IS SAFFRON SAFE FOR EXPECTANT MOTHERS?
Pregnancy craving varies from woman to woman from salty to sweet or from spicy to bitter. Whatever it is, take care to limit junk foods. Here is a list of pregnancy cravings desired by pregnant women:

Chocolate
This is a universally loved comfort food, especially for pregnant women. So, it is not a wonder that pregnancy cravings include this mouth watering delicacy either as a hot drink or in the form of sweets.

Pickles
Pregnancy cravings tend to sour and spicy. Grandmothers often produce pickles to tempt the appetites of pregnant women. Today, science sees it as an unconscious attempt to retain sodium in the body of pregnant women.

Potato chips
Potatoes, especially in the form of chips, are perhaps the most famous junk food. It is also full of starch and salt which again leads to the speculation that this pregnancy craving tries to retain sodium levels in the body.

Ice cream
Loved by people of all ages, it is little wonder that the ice cream has found its way to the list of pregnancy food cravings. It is also a rich source of calcium and other essential minerals for the growing foetus.

Fruits
This can be a surprising choice among pregnancy food cravings. But, pregnant women have sharp instincts when it comes to the health and well-being of their child. These provide ample amount of vitamin C to both mother and child.

Eggs
Eggs, another pregnancy food craving, are consumed in different forms like scrambled or boiled. But, care must be taken that these are properly cooked so as to avoid any digestion problems to the pregnant women.

Bacon
Bacon is a pregnancy craving that provides both protein and fat. Both these minerals are very essential to the growing baby. Pregnant women follow deeper instincts when it comes to their cravings.

Lemon
This is yet another example of pregnancy cravings for sour foods. Also, lemons provide an ample amount of vitamin C to both the mother and child and are craved as lemonade, lime juice or even raw lemon.

Cheese
The growing foetus needs a great amount of calcium to grow strong and healthy bones. This could be behind the pregnancy craving for cheese. But, do not eat too much as it will cause unwanted weight gain.

Spicy foods
This is a typical pregnancy craving even for women who normally would not like chilli peppers. It is thought to a pregnancy food craving because spicy foods make you hot and you break out in sweat which in turn cools your body.
