Why Do Pregnant Woman Urinate?

Pregnant women urinate
Pregnant women urinate a lot. Frequent urination is a sign of pregnancy and starts about six weeks into the first trimester. When you are pregnant, the amount of blood in the body increases therefore leading to an increase in the extra fluid. This fluid is processed through the kidneys and settle in the bladder. During pregnancy, the baby puts pressure on the urinary bladder and make you feel the urge to urinate.

Reducing the intake of coffee, tea tea and any such drink which has mild diuretic affect can control gestation urination. Pregnant women urinate more during the night time when they lie down because some of the fluid that retained in the legs and feet during the day makes its way back into the bloodstream to bladder.

Pregnant women during urination must bend forward to empty the bladder completely. This will prevent pregnant women urinate abnormally.

The expanding uterus of the pregnant woman presses against the urinary bladder thus giving more pressure on the bladder. This pressure makes the woman feel a full bladder though it is empty. Kidneys work more hard during the pregnancy to flush out the waste products out of the body. These changes make the pregnant women urinate more. It is normal and natural. It cures with time during the later stages of pregnancy or can stay till the whole gestation.

Talk to your doctor if you feel pain or burning sensation after urinating as it can be Urinary tract Infection. This is a common bacterial infection among pregnant women and if it is left untreated, the urine infection can lead to kidney infection or pre-term labor or both.

After pregnancy also, urination can be observed for few days but it becomes normal after few days.
