Breastfeeding Facts For New Mothers

1.The first and foremost breastfeeding fact is that it does not lead to breast sagging. It infact helps to restore the breast shape as the process burns the post pregnancy fat. It also releases hormones which helps to reshape the uterus.
2.The second breastfeeding fact is that it is beneficial for your baby. Breast milk has antibodies which prevents baby from all illnesses. It protects baby from eczema, allergy and asthma. Some research have also proved that babies who fee on breast milk are less likely to have diabetes.
3.It promotes good health for the mother in later stages of life. It prevents pre-menopausal breast cancer and ovarian cancer.
4.Milk production is generally believed to be depending on breast size. Studies have proved that milk production depends completely on the size of the mammary glands, which has no connection to breast size and thus, cannot be the reason of avoiding breast feeding your child.
5.To catch a cold or flu is common post pregnancy symptoms and usually women stop giving breast milk to the child at this time. Until the mother is facing serious illness there is no risk of passing on the disease to the child. body produces antibodies which are passed on to the child.
6.Breast tenderness is not a side-effect, it just a temporary phase which happens due to your child not connecting to the nipples properly. The problem disappears in few days time.
