Teenage Cooks Can Be Extremely Unhygienic

Researchers from Kansas State University sought to determine what could be done to enhance the safety of frozen foods.
Lead author Doug Powell, Associate Professor of Food Safety, Kansas State University, found that teenagers were also less likely than adults to wash their hands before adolescence, britain, cooking, frozen food, house tips, university. While half of the adults were observed to wash hands before touching raw chicken, none of the adolescents did.
Contrary to the adults, the unhygienic behaviors associated with the adolescent age groups like not washing hands, flipping hair and scratching various body parts can lead to contamination of food.
The authors who contributed to the study comprised graduates, doctoral students, professors and assistant professors of the university. The research was published in November 2009 and was issued in the British Food Journal.
