Can Diseases Make You Infertile?

In some cases, infertility issues are caused due to the male partner. In other cases it is due the female and in some cases due to both. Infertility is not always caused due poor lifestyle or sexual habits. Here we are listing down some diseases that can cause infertility in you or your partner.
Diabetics In Men- People with a high blood sugar level are said to be diabetic. Diabetes have been diagnosed as one of the diseases causing infertility issues in men. As per a research conducted by scientists in UK, the sperm in diabetic men has damaged DNA. Sperm concentration is also significantly affected in this case. An increased sperm nuclear and DNA damage impairs the reproductive system of men thus attributing to infertility issues. The embryo cannot form and survive as the sperm in diabetic men is unable to deliver all the genetic codes.
Celiac Disease In Men and Women- It is a condition where the inner lining of the smaller intestine is damaged thus stoping it from absorbing parts of food that is important for staying healthy. Female celiac patients have a shorter reproductive period and an early menopause. Men with the same disease have been diagnosed with gonadal dysfunction which effects the function of the testes. Thus it is one of the diseases causing infertility.
Thyroid Problems In Women- More than 10% infertility issues in women are due to their weight. Thyroid problems affect ovulation and one's ability to sustain a pregnancy. Women with thyroid antibodies have an increased number of natural killer cells which attack the developing embryos disturbing implantation and even miscarriage in some cases. But there is no cause to worry just because you have thyroid; you can easily sustain your pregnancy by effective medical treatment.
