Malayalam film actor and production controller Kannan Pattambi passed away on 4 January 2026 at around 11:40 pm, according to a social media post by his sibling, filmmaker Major Ravi. Pattambi was widely respected in the Malayalam film industry for his work both in front of and behind the camera.
The funeral was scheduled for 4:00 pm on 5 January 2026 at the family home in Njangattiri, Pattambi, in Palakkad district. Industry colleagues, friends, and admirers were expected to attend to pay their respects to the veteran actor and production professional.

Malayalam film director and actor Major Ravi (AK Raveendran) shared emotional post:
Born in 1964 in Pattambi, Palakkad district, Kerala, Kannan Pattambi appeared in several Malayalam films over the years, often in supporting roles that strengthened ensemble casts. His notable filmography includes Pulimurugan, Punaradhivasam, Ananthabhadram, Odiyan, Keerthichakra, Vettam, Crazy Gopalan, Kandahar, Tantra, and 12th Man. He earned recognition for his versatility and ability to contribute meaningfully to both commercial blockbusters and content-driven cinema.
In addition to acting, Pattambi had a distinguished career as a production controller, working on films directed by Major Ravi, Shaji Kailas, V. K. Prakash, and Santosh Sivan, among others. He also took on responsibilities as an executive producer, coordinating complex production logistics and ensuring smooth film shoots.
Kannan Pattambi's death marks the loss of a familiar face and trusted professional in Malayalam cinema. His dual contributions as an actor and production controller created lasting links across films, directors, and production teams. From Pulimurugan to 12th Man, his body of work reflects a long-standing and multifaceted engagement with the Malayalam film industry, leaving behind a legacy that will be remembered by colleagues and fans alike.
