Gold Price Falls Again on Dhanteras 2025: Check Today’s Gold and Silver Rate in Your City
Gold prices fell on Saturday, continuing a small drop from October 17. The earlier decline followed comments by U.S. President Donald Trump, who suggested that his additional tariffs on China might not be sustainable. On October 17, gold had touched a record high of $4,378.69 per ounce before dropping more than 2% to settle at $4,211.48 per ounce.

As India celebrates Dhanteras, gold and silver continue to be popular investments. Over the past 20 years, gold prices have jumped by 1,200%, rising from ₹7,638 in 2005 to more than ₹1,00,000 in 2025. Gold has given positive returns in 16 out of 20 years and is already up 31% this year, making it one of the top-performing assets of 2025.

According to the MCX website, Gold prices of 24 kt on MCX, which had recently touched a record high of ₹1,32,294 per 10 grams, fell by around 3 per cent to ₹1,25,957 per 10 grams.
Silver saw an even steeper fall, declining by more than 8 per cent, slipping from ₹1,70,415 per kg to ₹1,53,929 per kg.
