The couple married in a private ceremony on Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands, and Booysen's own career as a gamer, streamer, esports figure, and author has quickly become a story in its own right.

A Career Built Long Before the Wedding

Booysen is South African and has spent years building an online presence under the handle "TheaBeasty." She started out as a gamer and streamer back in 2016, creating content around titles like The Witcher 3 and Gwent, before expanding into esports commentary. By the time she met Donaldson, she already had an established following built entirely on her own gaming and streaming work - not on any connection to MrBeast.

Beyond gaming, Booysen holds multiple degrees, including a law degree from Stellenbosch University and a master's degree in Human Cognitive Neuropsychology from the University of Edinburgh, though she has not practised law professionally. She also became a published author in 2022, releasing a young-adult novel called The Marked Children, a project she started while still in high school. How They Met

Their relationship began somewhat by chance. Donaldson travelled to South Africa in 2022 alongside fellow creators, and during that trip he ended up at a dinner with a mutual friend who invited Booysen along. The two hit it off immediately, stayed in touch after he left, and kept the connection going as he made repeat trips back to South Africa to see her before she eventually relocated to be closer to him. For a significant stretch, the two managed a long-distance relationship while both kept building their separate careers.

Donaldson proposed on Christmas Day in 2024, timing the moment around a family gathering so that Booysen's relatives, who had traveled from South Africa for the holiday, could be present. He engineered a bit of theater around the reveal, making sure the ring was the very last gift opened that night. Booysen has described being caught completely off guard and thrilled by the surprise.

She later showed off her engagement ring publicly on the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards in September 2025, giving fans their first real look at the ring ahead of the wedding.

Booysen's relationship with Donaldson hasn't unfolded without public scrutiny. When old clips of Donaldson using insensitive language resurfaced alongside a lawsuit alleging unsafe working conditions on his Amazon Prime Video series Beast Games, Booysen publicly stood by him rather than staying silent, addressing the criticism directly online.
