What To Watch This Week (April 27–May 3): New OTT Releases Across Netflix, JioHotstar, Prime Video, & More
The first week of May arrives with one of the busiest OTT slates of 2026. Across Netflix, Prime Video, ZEE5, SonyLIV, JioHotstar, and Apple TV+, there are closing-out sequels, Hollywood adaptations finally hitting home screens, and Indian originals that have been building buzz for weeks. Here's a clean, platform-wise breakdown so you know exactly where to go.
Netflix
Three notable titles land on Netflix this week.
- Glory (May 1) is the one to watch - a Haryana boxing series starring Pulkit Samrat and Divyenndu, centred on the mysterious death of an Olympic hopeful. The investigation pulls two brothers back into a world of grief, power, and revenge. Created by Karan Anshuman, it's a sports-crime hybrid with a deliberately raw tone.
- Raakaasa (May 1) is a Telugu comedy-horror starring Sangeeth Shobhan and Nayan Sarika. It blends laughs and supernatural scares with enough regional flavour to make it a solid weekend watch. Strong theatrical run, high IMDb rating.
- The Kerala Story 2: Goes Beyond also lands May 1, following three women from different parts of India whose choices lead them into coercive, dangerous situations. Arrives with both buzz and considerable controversy.
Amazon Prime Video
Two returning series anchor Prime Video this week.
- Sapne Vs Everyone Season 2 (May 1) picks up inside Mumbai's film industry - gritty, morally complex, and built around the cost of ambition. If Season 1 worked for you, this one raises the stakes.
- The House of Spirits (April 29) offers something slower - a multigenerational family saga blending love, political unrest, and magical realism, based on Isabel Allende's celebrated novel. Rich, layered storytelling for viewers who prefer depth over pace.
JioHotstar
JioHotstar's slate this week is driven by regional content.
- Batchmates (April 30) is a Telugu coming-of-age series following four first-year engineering students as they navigate ragging, academic pressure, first crushes, and the slow realisation that college is nothing like they expected. A JioHotstar original, it releases with weekly episodes and is available in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada as well.
- Thai Maaman (April 28) is a Tamil family drama that explores the tension between tradition and changing relationships across generations. A grounded, emotion-led watch for viewers who prefer quieter storytelling over high-stakes drama.
ZEE5
- Aadu 3 brings back the beloved Malayalam comedy franchise - chaotic, fast-paced, and made entirely for fans of the earlier films. No heavy lifting required.
- Lawrence of Punjab, a docuseries tracing the rise of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, was slated for April 27 but is currently facing a government-ordered stay over concerns about glorifying criminal activity. Watch this space.
SonyLIV
Undekhi Season 4: The Final Battle (May 1) closes out one of India's most consistently gripping crime dramas. Papaji returns from prison to reclaim his empire; a transformed Rinku is ready to fight back. New episodes drop weekly - which suits a show built entirely on slow-burn tension. If you've followed the Atwal family from Season 1, this is the conclusion it's been building towards.
HBO Max
Wuthering Heights streams on HBO Max globally from May 1. Directed by Emerald Fennell (Saltburn), starring Margot Robbie as Catherine and Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff - it's a bold, visually stunning reimagining of Brontë's classic that leans into obsession and desire over straightforward romance. Mixed critical reviews, but strong audience word-of-mouth. Earned $240 million globally in theatres.
Apple TV+
Widow's Bay (April 29) is the quiet gem of the week. A horror-comedy starring Matthew Rhys as a mayor trying to turn a "cursed" New England coastal town into a tourist destination. Created by Katie Dippold and directed by Hiro Murai (Atlanta). Currently holds a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes - the kind of show that rewards viewers who take a chance on something they haven't heard much about.
Bottomline
This week's OTT lineup doesn't depend on one headline release - the weight is spread evenly. Glory and Undekhi for Indian drama. Wuthering Heights if you want the cinematic experience at home. Widow's Bay if you want something genuinely surprising. Pick your platform, match your mood, and go.
