India"s leading retail jewellery exhibition 'Jewels of India" is all set to allure the Bangaloreans yet again with its dazzling jewellery collection from across India. The most eagerly awaited exhibition is slated to open from October 15 – 17, 2011 at Bangalore Palace, Palace Grounds (Entrance from Mount Carmel College, Vasanthnagar as well as from Jayamahal Road next to Fun World) with the most exciting range of Jewellery, Brands and Prices. Popular celebrity Lakshmi Gopalaswamy is the Brand Ambassador for the 13th edition. The exhibition promises to be one of the best jewellery retail fair India has ever witnessed. All the past editions of the event so far have had a tremendous reception from the city"s jewellery lovers prompting the organizers to further improvise and enhance the quality and content of the show with each passing year. Over 100 top jewellers from across India are participating under a single roof.

The first 'Jewels of India" retail Jewellery Exhibition was held in Bangalore eleven years ago at Hotel Ashoka in August 1999. The Southern India, till then, did not have any such exhibitions. With Bangalore, as with the rest of south India being known for its fetish for gold and jewellery of all kinds, Mr. Sandeep Bekal of Expoworld hit upon the idea of hoisting a similar exhibition aimed at Bangalore"s jewellery lovers. Thus the first “Jewels of India" came to being. It opened with a bang, being launched by Mrs. Parvattamma Rajkumar. The masses loved it and the resounding feedback convinced the organizers to make it an annual event.

It was to portray the elegance, depth and substance in the show that the 'Jewels of India" organizers chose to have a brand ambassador who would convey the essence of the exhibition.
