About Jewels of India
The first 'Jewels of India" retail Jewellery Exhibition was held in Bangalore eleven years ago at Hotel Ashoka in August 1999. The Southern India, till then, did not have any such exhibitions. With Bangalore, as with the rest of south India being known for its fetish for gold and jewellery of all kinds, Mr. Sandeep Bekal of Expoworld hit upon the idea of hoisting a similar exhibition aimed at Bangalore"s jewellery lovers. Thus the first “Jewels of India" came to being. It opened with a bang, being launched by Mrs. Parvattamma Rajkumar. The masses loved it and the resounding feedback convinced the organizers to make it an annual event.
It was to portray the elegance, depth and substance in the show that the 'Jewels of India" organizers chose to have a brand ambassador who would convey the essence of the exhibition. In doing so, the jewellery event became the only show of its kind to have a brand ambassador. Some of the famed film personalities who have been the part of Jewels of India over the years are Vani Ganapathy, Deepika Padukone, Shobana, Bhagyashree, Jayapradha, Priyanka Upendra and many others.
The jewellery event has become an eagerly awaited retail exhibition by Bangaloreans for a variety of reasons. The huge participation of retail jewellers, collection of jewellery from all parts of the India, the quality of jewellery, the best of offers and deals and it being held just before the advent of festival season, makes the exhibition a hit among the jewellery lovers. The exhibition itself is organized with an eye for detail and assures the best of buying experience.
