Manish Malhotra's Collection: Delhi Couture Fashion Week

Couture in India traces its history from the fantasies, opulence, creativity and intricate work for the maharajas and mughals. Scintillating fashion shows make an impression and showcases the designs never seen before!
Manish Malhotra's collection at the Delhi Couture Fashion Week, 2011 showcased 25 diverse unique and stylish looks for women and 5 looks for men. These looks are inspired from the old world charm and Indian royalty opulence which prevailed in the country during the 1920- 40s. The dresses were had a distinct British influence with respect to the dressing of Indian Royalty.
Manish Malhotra's collection at the Delhi Couture Fashion Week, 2011 was a blend of contemporary and traditional dressing. The colors in Manish Malhotra's womens collection were off whites, cherry red, burgundy with mint green and aqua colors. Whereas mens collection had combination colors- black, burgundy, glod, beiges and royal blue.
Manish Malhotra's collection always has a fantabulous blend of traiditonal and western design and thats what makes his collection a must watch and have in the closet. This collection showed womens wear like
Silhouettes- long billowing kurtas, anrakali designs, lehengas, ghagras, saress, sheer jackets and flared pants.
Mens wear: long jackets, churidars and bandhgalas
Fabric: The most commonly used fabric were velvet, chiffon and sheer nets.
Manish Malhotra's collection at the Delhi Couture Fashion Week, 2011 was concluded by Bollywood fashion diva, Sonam Kapoor. The actress was the show stopper of Manish Malhotra's show at the Delhi Couture Week, 2011. Sonam Kapoor wore a white lehenga and heavily embroidered red backless overcoat with embellished gold work. She beautifully and confidently carried the old world charm and majestic opulence of royalty that prevailed during the British raj!
