"So Good To See My Girl": Priyanka Chopra And Lara Dutta's Wimbledon Reunion

Lara Dutta posted a photo to her Instagram story on 11 July. In it, she stands beside Priyanka Chopra, both laughing, and the caption read simply: "26 years later, happy girls are still the..." followed by a string of hearts.

Chopra followed within hours with her own picture from the same moment: "So good to see my girl." Two former Miss World and Miss Universe titleholders, once inseparable on the pageant circuit and later paired on screen, had just reunited at the All England Club - and the internet noticed immediately.

Two Pageant Queens, One Screen Debut

Chopra was crowned Miss World in 2000. Dutta had already won Miss Universe the year before, in 1999. Their friendship goes back to Andaaz, the 2003 film that made both of them Bollywood leading ladies, alongside Akshay Kumar. It marked Lara's acting debut, and the pairing of two reigning pageant titleholders sharing a screen for the first time in Indian cinema was the film's biggest selling point. The gamble paid off - the film grossed close to ₹29 crore against an ₹8 crore budget and ranked among the year's highest earners. The two would share the screen again in Farhan Akhtar's Don 2, with Chopra playing Roma and Dutta appearing as Ayesha.

Wimbledon Brings The Two Together Again

Chopra was among several Bollywood names spotted at the All England Club this week, as Wimbledon's Centre Box drew its usual mix of sport and star power. She opted for a white off-shoulder dress for the tournament, while Dutta wore a blue buttoned dress, complemented with a white shrug and a hat.

The reunion clearly struck a chord. Fans flooded the comments with memories of the 2003 film, with one writing "Andaaz is back," and another noting, "Miss World and Miss Universe together" - while several joked the moment was missing only Akshay Kumar, who starred alongside the two actresses in the film.

Chopra also made sure her husband Nick Jonas did not miss out on the occasion, FaceTiming him a few seconds of the action from the stands during the day's play. She explained that Jonas usually accompanies her to Wimbledon and is a big fan of the sport, but could not travel this time as he was back home in Los Angeles.

What's Next For The Andaaz Co-Stars

The reunion also arrives as both actors head into major new projects. Chopra is preparing to return to Indian cinema after an eight-year gap, starring in S S Rajamouli's Varanasi alongside Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran, a film blending mythology and science fiction due in cinemas in April 2027. Dutta, meanwhile, is reportedly part of Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, one of Indian cinema's most expensive productions, with a reported budget of ₹4,000 crore, releasing this Diwali.
