Food is not only something we eat for survival but also something that binds people, cultures and cooking becomes a hobby people love to pick. You can do so much with any ingredient you want and create something yummy.
We, Indians, love to cook and most of us must know some of the basic food that truly makes us Indians. It is these food that makes our cooking different than the rest. Some of us love to cook so much that all we want to do is add that zing of our own to every dish known to mankind.

Dal
We Indians cannot do without rice and roti's and no matter what we eat here and there at the end of the day a simple dal rice can be happiness served on a plate. Dal is one such food every Indian must know how to cook. And the best part is you can add a little zing to it by adding chopped onions and tomatoes for extra flavour.

Curd Rice
Curd rice is the easiest and the most simple food one can make. All Indians love curd rice and learning how to make it is not a task at all. All you need is a bowl of steamed rice which you need to mix with curd, a little bit of ginger, curry leaves, mustard seeds and add little bit of green chillies or red dried chilli.

Grilled Sandwich
If you are not exactly a rice person, worry not. You can make a simple grilled sandwich for that hunger anytime of the day. All you need is some lettuce, mayonnaise, cheese and some boiled sliced eggs. Put them in the bread and grill. Your food is ready to eat.

Fried Fish
You don't have to be a typical Bengali to cook that perfect fish and mustard curry. As yummy as that sounds you can fry fish simply. All you need is oil, flour, cornstarch, lemon and milk. Marinated the fish in some turmeric, chilli powder, lemon, cornstarch, milk and flour. Fry and enjoy this yummy dish.

French Toast
Now, an Indian French toast is a completely different food one can make and ironically its only in India that we get this particular kind of 'French toast'. Take some bread and dip it in some eggs, milk and salt fully. Pan fry the bread till its golden brown and you have your easiest snack ready.
