5 Things Girls Hate About Indian Society
We Indians love our country. Patriotism is deeply inscribed in us. The best example of our love for our country would be every time it plays Pakistan, no matter the sport. Still, there are some things that are trivial in nature but are so widely practised that people hate them. This is especially true in case of girls, as they are the most affected by it.
India is necessarily a patriarchal, sex-obsessed country. It is strange, as we worship women deities who are all powerful but the women in India today are far from powerful. They are constantly looked down upon, harassed, raped, killed in the womb and judged. All these things about India make the girl child hate it. The reason can be attributed to the male mentality, their ego, their upbringing, the obsession with a male child and the society.
7 Things Girls Do When They Are Upset
Change is difficult to come by when the male mentality never changes and the feminists are hell-bent on reversing the tide against men. The need of the hour is equality and that is the only thing that can bring about a necessary change.
Read on and find out the things a girl hates about Indian society.
Judgemental
One
thing
every
Indian
girl
hates
about
the
society
is
the
hypocrisy
and
the
judgemental
views
it
has
about
them.
They
are
judged
if
they
wear
clothes
which
offend
guys,
who
then
proceed
to
sexually
abuse
them
in
the
name
of
culture!
Freedom
With
Limitations
Freedom
has
an
entirely
different
meaning
in
India,
especially
for
girls.
Another
one
of
those
things
to
hate
about
India
is
its
limitations
in
case
of
a
girl's
freedom.
She
can
stay
out
only
upto
a
certain
time.
Having
friends
is
fine
but
guys
as
friends
can
lead
to
questions
on
the
girl's
character.
Dowry
Indians
have
reached
Mars
but
still
some
things
seldom
change.
Dowry
has
been
around
since
ancient
times
and
it
continues
even
today.
It
is
so
rampant
that
people
believe
it
to
be
a
part
of
marriage.
Girls
hate
this
thing,
this
evil,
because
they
feel
like
a
commodity
who
is
being
sold
at
a
depreciation!
Shut
Up
About
Abuse
Seems
like
Indians
haven't
heard
of
Sir
Francis
Bacon's
famous
quote,
"Silence
is
the
virtue
of
fools.",
as
they
insist
a
girl
to
remain
silent
about
any
sexual
abuse
mete
out
to
her,
be
it
by
the
neighbourhood
family
friend,
the
uncle
or
the
teacher.
And
all
this
in
the
name
of
honour!
Add
this
to
another
one
of
those
things
girls
hate
about
India.
Male
Chauvinism
The
whole
of
India
has
this
belief
that
men
are
superior
to
women.
The
worst
part
is
that
some
women
seem
to
think
so
too!
This
makes
girls
hate
the
Indian
society
even
more.
The
patriarchal
system
is
widely
accepted
and
makes
things
much
worse
for
the
girl.
